A note from MJ

"The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult for small charities, which rely on their fundraising activities to survive.

Meanwhile, I fear that one of the lasting impacts of the pandemic is that we have become inward looking, increasingly self interested and so much more focused on matters closer to home. 

That's why this year, Tabula has chosen to support Child Action Nepal, a nearly twenty year old charity that has a proven and direct impact on some of the world's most vulnerable children.

I'm delighted to be running the Virgin Money London Marathon this year, raising much needed funds for Child Action Nepal. Every penny raised will be spent directly on the orphans at Laliguraas Baal Uddhyaan orphange.

Over 50% of Child Action Nepal's budget is spend on education. See how your money will be spent:

  • £20 - A pair of shoes for one of Child Action Nepal's orphans
  • £40 - School supplies per child per year
  • £50 - School uniform for one child per year
  • £400 - One terms' worth of water, gas and electricity for the orphanage
  • £500 - Enough to support one child for a year

Why Child Action Nepal?

Most Nepalis live on less than £2 per day. Nepal provides no compulsory schooling and child labour is widespread.

The purpose of Child Action Nepal (CAN) is to raise money to support smaller orphanages in Nepal. The organisation supports children throughout their studies and helps them to secure work, thereby providing them with the best possible start in life.
